RESOLUTION
TO CONSTRUCT A NEW LODGE BUILDING WHEREAS, the future of Freemasonry and Cross Plains Lodge No. 627 is largely dependent on a public image of good men doing good things that attract other good men to our fraternity; and, WHEREAS, public image and perception are equally impacted by a physical presence of prominence in the community; and, WHEREAS, our present building is old and located in a deteriorating fringe area without distinction; and, WHEREAS, our lodge building’s age will demand an ever increasing burden of upkeep and repairs; and, WHEREAS, Cross Plains Lodge No. 627 desires to make a permanent contribution to Masonry for future generations; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, on this 3rd day of October 2002, that Cross Plains Lodge No. 627 construct a new lodge building on the Main Street property previously purchased for the purpose and described as; “Lots Seventeen (17) and Eighteen, (18), Block 52, Central Addition, (225 South Main), Cross Plains, Texas. The Lodge hereby empowers the Lodge Officers and appointed committee/s to raise funds and take whatever actions are prudent, necessary and expedient toward that end, reserving approval of final plans and specifications for separate vote and approval. No indebtedness is to be created without further vote and approval of the Lodge and all actions resultant of this resolution are to be in compliance with the Laws, Resolutions, and Edicts of The Grand Lodge of Texas
